Details
Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India, is a home to more than 50 tribes; Sahariyas are one of them who are residing predominantly at SHIVPURI the health status of this tribe is extremely poor due to malnutrition, lack of proper hygiene and illiteracy. Lack of proper nutrition, especially protein-deficient diet in children, very often predisposes them to diseases like Marasmus and Kwashiorkor & TB is a contagious disease related to poverty, under nutrition and poor immune function. It has been more than 20 years of intensive effort to improve TB diagnosis, treatment. To stop TB, Still, the incidence of TB globally is declining only slowly and TB remains a major public health threat here.
In all identified 15 villages of Pohri Block, District Shivpuri have 2129 households composed of Total10774 population, which belong to mainly Scheduled Tribes, than Other Backward classes & than Scheduled Castes.
Out of 10774 Population, in which 5454 are male and 5320 are female.
Out of 2129 household 296 household belongs to Scheduled cast, 1136 household belongs to Scheduled cast and 638 household belongs to Other backward cast, rest are general.
Total no of Children of the age group 0-5 years, are 920, in which 32 are severely malnourished and 265 are moderate malnourished.
