Saksham Project
Coverage: Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Training Area: Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Title: Kalam Maitri Fellowship
Details
The Preamble of the Constitution of India states that the basic object of the establishment of the Constitution is to secure justice, social, economic and political, dignity, equality of opportunity and liberty. But this fact is also not hidden from anyone that there are still many stages left in the implementation of constitutional values like equal justice, equality and liberty. To bridge this gap, a need has also been felt for a group of active and sensitive journalists who can raise the voice of the rights of the deprived and exploited sections and be more sensitive to their needs.
Following the encouraging past experience of media fellowships, the one on constitutional values was launched in 2022. The Kalam Maitri Fellowship is the next step in this series. The basis of the program is awareness and engagement towards constitutional values. It depicts difference in format. The process reflected in ‘input’ and ‘output’ is quite unique. The Kalam Maitri Fellowship focuses on and addresses the internal and behavioral changes that occur in the fellows. For this, Nyay Maitri fellowships have been provided to 20 advocates from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (five districts Raipur, Surguja, Koriya, Surajpur and MCB (Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur).
Beneficiary Groups
