Research and Training

Training and Capacity Building has been VSS core strategy. Vikas Samvad is organising and facilitating training programmes since 2003 on subjects including, food policy and programmes, malnutrition, advocacy – tools and techniques, public health systems,  right to information, forest rights act, process documentation etc. Vikas Samvad has organised 81 training programmes till date; and along with that VSS has also facilitated 193 training programmes for other organizations and networks in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa and Jharkhand.

• Training and Capacity Building: Vikas Samvad, for itself, has set mandate of providing support for evidence-based and people and policy-centric advocacy, research and knowledge mobilization. It is facilitating training programmes on ICDS, Malnutrition, Food Security, and Right to Information, Advocacy-Tools and Techniques, Media Writing etc. in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir since 2004. VSS has thus far conducted and/or 192 training programmes /capacity building sessions over the last 14 years with various organizations.
• Organization Development: VSS has adopted a mandate to support grassroots and community-based organisations to pursue the strategy of Organisation Development rather than becoming a competitor in Social Actions. VSS is organizing its interventions in collaboration and coordination with these organizations.
• Advocacy: Under advocacy social audit and commuity monitoring are done. VSS undertakes process of Social Audit under Targeted Public Distribution, Integrated Child Development Services, Mid Day Meal, Pradhanmantri Matru Vandana Yojna, MGNREGA etc. VSS has developed Guidelines, Manual and Training Modules for the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Madhya Pradesh on Social Audit under National Food Security Act 2013.
